An Arena Tour that puts an All-Around Entertainer Center Stage

The multi-talented Hugh Jackman is a chameleon performer who has excelled both on screen and on stage in an impressively wide range of roles. Returning to his song & dance roots, he has embarked on a world tour, The Man. The Music. The Show., delighting his fans and garnering critical acclaim. Performing hit songs from both Broadway and films, including The Greatest Showman, Les Misérables, The Boy From Oz and many more, Jackman is touring arenas accompanied by a live orchestra. Important to Jackman was the audience experience when putting the tour together, as he told Rolling Stone, “I just want people to feel like they saw something on that night that could only happen in there, and that it’s not a cookie-cutter performance, and that there’s something fresh.”

Though an arena tour, Jackman has been able to create a more intimate engagement with his audiences, just as he had hoped. The tour, which started in Glasgow, Scotland, will travel throughout the UK, Europe, North America and Oceania over the course of six months. Jackman and the creative team for The Man. The Music. The Show., produced by AEG Presents and TEG-Dainty, have entrusted supply and support of the video solutions to Solotech as well as relying upon Solotech, through its UK subsidiary SSE Audio Group, for the tour’s audio package. Along with equipment, Solotech’s support includes expert touring personnel on the crew. Lee Moro is the Solotech account executive and Hugo Tardif is the Solotech Director of Production, Touring, for The Man. The Music. The Show. world tour.

The dynamic production design calls for both standard and custom video solutions. Solotech provided Solotech/Saco S6 and S9 LED modules for the array of LED screens encompassing the stage around Jackman. The Solotech video team includes: Crew Chief / LED / Cam op Tyler Raphalian; Video Engineer Shane Jason Watson; Lead LED Krystena Lee Rice; disguise Media Server Tech Andreanne Lafrance; LED / Robo Camera Operator Owen Shull; LED/ Camera Operator Folkert Van Der Werff; and LED Technician Thomas Joseph Poje. Solotech’s Martin Kyncil, Technical Specialist collaborated with the creative and production teams on the custom video work; Leon Roll and Adam Dragosin are handling video support for the tour from Solotech’s DeKalb, IL location.

For the audio solution Solotech’s SSE Audio Group, is supplying a complete audio rig to ensure the audience fully experiences the concert performance’s entire range of ballads, showstoppers and stories of Jackman, his guest artists and the live orchestra as intended. Among the audio gear is a DiGiCo SD7 audio console and a full L-Acoustics K2 Kara speaker system.

The Solotech audio team includes: Audio Crew Chief / System Tech Alexandre Bibeau; RF Tech Ike Zimbel; Monitor Engineer Seamus Fenton; FOH Engineer Simon Sayer; Stage Tech David Courtney; and PA Techs – UK Mark Cleator and Chris Courtney.
