Rock ‘n’ Roll Rebels

Many people list KISS as one of rock’s most influential bands; they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 and were honored with the ASCAP Founders Award in 2015. Over four decades of recording and performing, KISS has released 44 albums, sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and taken their massive shows around the globe countless times. As the hard-driving rockers are world-renowned for their crowd-pleasing and over the top, elaborate live shows the anticipation for their final tour was off the charts and they again blow well past all expectations.

A Final Tour for the KISS Army

The news broke in September of 2018, when KISS played the season finale of America’s Got Talent and took that opportunity to announce onstage The End of the Road World Tour, to the great delight of its official fan club, the KISS Army. “It will be the most explosive, biggest show we’ve ever done. People who love us, come to see us. If you’ve never seen us, this is the time. This will be THE show.”

The End of the Road World Tour is indeed THE show as it features a dynamic design—a true KISS rock show—from Sooner Routhier and Robert Long, who have served as production designers for KISS since 2013. The tour kicked off on January 31, 2019 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and has dates currently scheduled in North America, Europe, and Oceania through the end of 2020. Working closely with production manager Chad Guy, Solotech’s video team is supporting the tour with video equipment including LED video screens, cameras, control, and crewing.

Never-ending Support on the Road

“On this tour, KISS can play up to five nights a week,” commented Bob Brigham, General Manager of Solotech in DeKalb, IL, whose team is overseeing the KISS tour. “The show is the largest the band has ever toured with and the major challenge was to be able to set up the show quickly and take it down quicker, then move on to the next city. The tour is receiving well-deserved critical acclaim as the best KISS show ever. KISS and their manager Doc McGhee have always been wonderful to work with, and we especially enjoy working with Robert Long and Sooner Routhier in supporting their brilliant design. All of us at Solotech are very proud to be a part of this production.”

The video team for KISS’ The End of the Road World Tour includes: Video Director/Engineer John McLeish; Video Crew Chief John Moore; Video Shader Tom Braislin; Lead LED Technician Will Stinson; LED/Camera Operator Zane Moore; and Projectionist/Camera Operator Scott Grund.
