British singer-songwriter Robert Plant is best known as the former lead singer of the legendary band Led Zeppelin. Since the 1980’s, after the band split up, he has been working as a solo artist, continuing to amaze audiences with the power and range of his voice.
The Carry Fire Tour features acoustic sounds and plenty of electric guitar solos – a challenge for the audio team led by FOH Engineer Marc Kennedy. Among other equipment to solve these audio challenges, he chose the Solid State Logic L500 console to ensure quality sound at all venues on the tour.
The L-Acoustics loudspeaker solution was designed by Dan Currie, Systems Technician at Solotech. He works with Kennedy prior to every show, doing exhaustive sound tests to prevent any glitches. “Dan is excellent… He and I spend a lot of time each day tuning the various elements of the system to try and ensure every seat has the best possible sound. So many thanks to the Solotech crew,” said Kennedy.
