For the first time in its history, Montreal welcomed stages of the 3×3 basketball tournament organized by the International Federation of Basketball (FIBA). The stakes were high for the competing teams, for the men and women series, trying to qualify for participation in the Summer 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Organized by Basketball Montreal (BM), the event was presented at the foot of the Jacques Cartier bridge, under an outdoor dome, from September 6 to 8, 2019. For the audience to experience this unique and memorable sports moment, BM called on the world’s leader in audiovisual and entertainment technology, Solotech.

Trusted to provide the entire audio, video, lighting and rigging equipment, Solotech is firmly established in terms of live sporting events (The Montreal Olympic Stadium, Rogers Arena, Place Bell, etc.). Its live technology expert teams were able to identify the ideal equipment: for audio, they supplied Mica line array loudspeakers as well as ultra-compact M’elodie loudspeakers, both from Meyer Sound. In terms of lighting gear, Solotech provided Ayrton Mistral spot moving lights as well as SGM P-5 wash lights. Lastly, on the video side, the Solotech team opted for SL-Pro 8 LED HD video screens to ensure not to miss a moment.
Robert Toméo, Vice-President, Events and Corporate sector at Solotech, commented: “This project was thoroughly prepared upstream. A lot of people were waiting for this moment and we’re delighted to have highlighted the talent of the competing players thanks to our cutting-edge technologies. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our expert teams who’ve done excellent work on this live event!”
