Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City

The Atlantic City Alliance wanted to offer visitors of all ages a spectacular event outside its casinos. To achieve this, the facade of the Boardwalk Hall – a historical building constructed in 1929 – was transformed into a giant projection surface. This was a major challenge since the equipment chosen had to withstand the harshest weather conditions, of the likes of Hurricane Sandy. A highly robust solution would need to be meticulously tested and installed to perfection.

The system

To enable projections of this magnitude, Solotech supplied and installed twelve 20K projectors in custom-built outdoor housings. We also managed and remotely controlled the projection project, using a fully redundant Coolux media system based on a fiber optic connection, and a weatherproof Meyer Sound system comprising 16 audio tracks.

The system has proven successful: every evening, a magnificent show of sound and light, created by Moment Factory, Duality and Winter Sweet, is projected onto the facade of the Boardwalk Hall.
