Greensboro’s Church: “Rebuild. Repair. Revive. Restore.”

Created in 1999 when pastors Whitman and Ressie Toland moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, the Church on 68 is now a well-rooted Christian congregation in the city’s community. From family life to communion, worship sessions and Sunday services, the 1,100-seat Church on 68 regularly hosts other various events welcoming people from all walks of life who are bound by the same faith, namely live band performances and parenting courses.

To better serve their community, the church’s leaders called on JSS, a Solotech brand specializing in systems integration, well-known in the House of Worship sector (Elevate Life Church, Kirk Crossing, Gateway Church, First Baptist West Hills, etc.), to update their audio, video and lighting equipment.

A brand-new acoustics, audio, video and lighting installation

Prior to JSS’ systems installation in 2019, the church’s lighting system was quite limited, consisting of a few spots to light the stage, and its acoustics and audio system did not meet the church’s expectations.

First, the JSS teams handled the acoustic treatment design, as well as the reinstallation of the loudspeaker system. They provided a custom-made, on-site built acoustic wall system and added a Yamaha CL5 Digital Mixer. Second, these experts designed and installed the stage and house lighting system, consisting of elektraLite Stingray Profile LED lights and CHAUVET COLORado 1-Quad Zoom wash lights. Lastly, the church received a projector upgrade, with the installation of two Sony VPL-FHZ120 12,000 lumens 3LCD laser projectors.

Jason Spence, Director Sales and Systems Integration at JSS, noted: “The Church on 68 is delighted with the results that breathe a new, modern life into the congregation. Now with Solotech’s expertise, we’re going to be able to deliver more and more similar projects and experiences across the U.S., so that’s pretty exciting!”
