Junior Application Engineer

Job Summary :

We are recruiting for a Junior Application Engineer, based at our Park Royal office in London. The Junior Application Engineer will be responsible for service call out requirements on any installation projects in liaison with the wider team. Providing technical support for a variation of installation projects including system design, maintenance, and commissioning of systems initially in assistive manner. Ensuring projects are carried out effectively in collaboration with the PMs, to an agreed specification, on budget, in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the client with a clear profit margin.

Responsibilities :

• Assist to create/commission system design details for varied installation projects specifications.
• Support and liaise with sales team in reference to costings and technical requirements at the early stages of projects through to finalising quotations.
• Responsible for general high-level technical calls,
• Responsible for field service call outs and maintenance of integrations existing and developing projects.
• Assist with client training experiences, ensuring the installations are being effectively operated by the end user.
• Predominantly London based projects, with a requirement to be flexible in completed work in other geographical locations with agreement of the dept manager.
• Offer remote support via software platforms like TeamViewer etc.
• Assist and support Integration’s project managers in delivering projects to agreed specifications
• Liaise effectively and professionally with third parties and customers to provide a high standard of support and customer service, adhering to SSE standards
• Assist the sales team to build and manage customer relationships, passing on leads and market intelligence
• Familiarising yourself with developments in digital technology and related installations technology and how that can be applied to our projects to enhance our offerings or develop new business

Your profile :

• Good knowledge of live/installed audio, familiarity with simulation systems such as ArrayCalc, with additional integration knowledge of AV is desirable.
• Knowledge and experience of equipment installations design, and a familiarity with;
• Basic programming of digital processors, such as QSC Q-Sys and BSS Soundweb or other DSP
• An understanding of networking systems such as Cisco is desirable
• An understanding and experience of digital audio networking protocols such as Dante
• Some experience in CAD is desirable such as AutoCAD and/or Sketchup
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people of all professional levels
• Willingness to learn Coding in Lua
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly in a changing environment
• Effective administration skills, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
• Flexibility and adaptability, capable of multitasking, while remaining calm under pressure.
• Willingness to learn as this is a junior role so training will be given where required
• Some working knowledge of professional audio/video systems
• Education: educated to industry related degree level or equivalent is desirable
• Work Permit Requirement: right to work and remain in the UK
