The purpose of this role is to assist the Technical Team with all aspects of Technical Support, including audio over IP systems design, research & development of new technologies, technical documentation along with training of internal and external staff.
The candidate will be responsible for all systems leaving are up to the highest standard and tour worthy. They will be one of the technical points of call for staff across the company.
• Effectively manage own workloads to ensure all activities are managed to conclusion, undertaking a broad range of activities relating to the role, while maintaining a good working relationship with all key business areas. • Responsible for investigating and diagnosing basic network, hardware and software problems; and carrying out routine configuration, development and installation of technical solutions, if necessary, liaising with third party support and equipment vendors.• Supporting internal operations, providing technical support for the Live Production Event team. Writing, producing and delivering training on new hardware and software. Configuring new equipment to work seamlessly across the UK group.• Maintaining hardware where necessary.• Deal as necessary with operational issues. Research various technical concepts for future application integration.• Work with the rest of the technical team to standardize the UK group in terms of technical equipment and deployment.• Work with external production teams to work out technical solutions to large scale events.Identify improvements to performance and processes through Continuous Improvement and working with managers.• Assist in the design of products and be able to critique constructively.• Produce electrical power schematics for touring productions, along with relevant supporting documents.• Assist in the procurement of new equipment and build relationships with vendors.• Assist in design and calculations of electrical systems used in hire stock, including earth loop impedance, voltage drop, current capacity and disconnection times.• Adhere to Solotech service standards.• Handle all communication in accordance with Solotech core standards of behavior.• Liaise with 3rd Parties to provide support or handle queries.• Identify ways to improve cost effectiveness and where appropriate, generate income.
• Strong problem solving and analytical ability.Strong communication skills.• A friendly and willing personality to provide a high level of service to all staff within the company.• Hands on experience of installing network-based hardware and software.• Good organisational skills and time management.• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.• Educated to A level or equivalent. • At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role• UK Driving License• Good understanding of the Live Events industry and best working practices• Good understanding of networking, audio protocols, temporary power installations• Good understanding of Windows, Mac OS X & Microsoft 365• Understanding of product design, and L-Acoustics, d&b audiotechnik, Martin Audio and Vectorworks products would be advantageous.
