Traffic centre in Trois-Rivières gets a major upgrade

The mission of the Centre intégré de gestion de la circulation (CIGC), located in Trois-Rivières, Québec, is to ensure the road network’s surveillance Mauricie region, inform emergency services for the management of events, and support operations. Integrated traffic management centres contribute positively to road traffic control by reducing the effects of congestion related to to accidents, incidents, and recurring network congestion, while also improving the safety of the road network.

The CIGC recently underwent a complete technology modernization, which included replacing video equipment, upgrading the software and wired network required for the new equipment, and reorganizing the physical environment.

Solotech steps in with high-tech equipment

  • Thirty-three cameras of the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec network have been replaced, in addition to upgrading the wired network.
  • The video wall, used to provide continuous monitoring of the road network, has been completely replaced and enlarged.
