An important anniversary for the medical cause

The 25th edition of the Quebec CHU Foundation’s Bal des Grands romantiques took place on March 28, 2019 at Videotron Centre in Quebec City. Hosted for the second time by Canadian singer and businesswoman Mitsou Gélinas, the Foundation’s flagship event brought together nearly 750 people and raised $650 000, an increase of $40 000 from 2018. The funds will help realize hundreds of major medical projects of the Québec-Université Laval CHU and bring support to thousands of patients.

“Year after year, the Quebec CHU Foundation, the largest hospital foundation in Quebec, pursues its mission and does crucial work for 2 million people. Throughout the Bal des Grands romantiques’ history, six thousand projects have been implemented, thereby improving the daily life of people here,” said Marie-Claude Paré, President and CEO of the Quebec CHU Foundation.

Mixing lyricism and circus, the Bal des Grands romantiques showed videos of patients expressing their feelings and symptoms the day they were diagnosed (emptiness, loss of balance, dizziness, etc.), each feeling then being expressed through a circus performance.
