PAT TESTER

Job Summary :

Solotech is recruiting for a PAT Tester, based at its head office in Redditch. This role is to work with the Live Productions and Electronics departments, providing invaluable support to ensure that the operation delivers exceptional service to its customers, ensuring output meets the requirements of the business. The PAT Testers are essential for the function and safety checking of electrical items which will be used as technical equipment.

Responsibilities :

• Inspect & Test Solotech’s rental electrical systems, re-wiring / repair where necessary
• Use of the Company’s automated asset tracking system to carry out planned preventative maintenance and complete the appropriate PAT paperwork and reports in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Carry out Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork
• To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
• Responsible for safe and diligent working practices within the department, including the correct operation of tools and equipment
• Ensure working area is maintained in a clean, organised and tidy condition
• To assist with the safe organisation and storage of all incoming and outgoing electrical items
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical, waste and reuse regulations provided by SEPA, Government and Trading Standards
• Perform minor repairs and routine cleaning of audio cables

Your profile :

• Educated to GCSE level, with at least 5 GCSE’s A* – C or 4-9 (or equivalent)
• City & Guilds 2377-22 or equivalent is preferable, but full training can be given
• Right to work and remain in the UK
• Recent experience in a similar field or proven electrical background
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly
• Competent with the use of computers and ability to use databases
• Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions
• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is pivotal to the smooth running of the office and dealing with customers
