{"id":36082,"date":"2013-06-17T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-17T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.solotech.com\/?post_type=achievement&#038;p=36082"},"modified":"2022-10-31T09:29:57","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T13:29:57","slug":"rogers-arena","status":"publish","type":"achievement","link":"https:\/\/www.solotech.com\/our-work\/rogers-arena\/","title":{"rendered":"Rogers Arena"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-heading wp-block\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An unforgettable experience<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph wp-block\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Looking to enhance the Canucks fans pre-game experience in 2013, the Rogers Arena hired Solotech to integrate LED bars into the ice-level stanchions along the glass that surrounds the rink.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-heading wp-block\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A project combining creativity, technology and safety!<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph wp-block\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Brian Konechny and Doug Teramoto from Solotech worked together to design and install the 76 <em>\u201ccelebration lights.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph wp-block\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Many challenges were overcome to complete the installation, such as ensuring the safety of the players and avoiding damage to the LED bars following an impact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph wp-block\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Each of the LED pixels are fully-controllable and the Solotech team included the ability to pixel map the whole system that allows video content to be used. <em>\u201cThe LEDs had to be very punchy or they would have ended up looking like Christmas lights,\u201d<\/em> explained Konechny, <em>\u201cSo choosing a high-powered LED strip was the key.\u201d<\/em> Custom modifications such as integrating robust stainless-steel connectors were necessary to meet the site requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph wp-block\">\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Brian Konechny was delighted with the final result: <em>\u201cSeeing it all work for the first time at the home opener was like scoring the winning goal in overtime!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An unforgettable experience Looking to enhance the Canucks fans pre-game experience in 2013, the Rogers Arena hired Solotech to integrate LED bars into the ice-level stanchions along the glass that surrounds the rink.
