Solotech on the road for The Weeknd’s After Hours til Dawn tour

The Weeknd's After Hours til Dawn tour

Previously cancelled then rescheduled, The Weeknd’s After Hours til Dawn tour has finally kicked off, much to the delight of fans.

The best word to describe this tour’s artistic direction is masterly. Concerts feature a Fritz Lang and Ridley Scott inspired cityscape, including a huge moon, a breathtaking light show, and a stage several hundred meters long. To meet the needs of a project of this scale, Solotech has supplied the production with over 1,100 units.

Dealing with changing weather conditions was one of this stadium tour’s planning challenges and pushed crews to remain flexible day to day. “It was about putting together a package that gives us the ability to be switching, programming, and looking at cameras without having to leave the front of house area.” Ian Bertrand, Media Server Operations Manager for Solotech.

Another challenge was logistics. In 2022, a record-breaking number of events were held, and equipment inventory was running low. Robert Kennedy, Account Executive for Solotech, met this challenge head on by scouring the globe for the equipment needed to provide the spectacular touch for this tour.
